Drinking / Potable Water Management
Drinking Water Management | Potable Water Management
Safe drinking water is essential to sustain life and central to business continuity. A poorly managed drinking water system can result in significant impacts to not only health, but also business operations and it is hence vital that drinking / potable water systems are effectively managed.
A common misconception is that a drinking water system is safe when the water quality test results are compliant with the relevant standards (such as the Australian Drinking Water Guidelines – ADWG 2011). However, drinking water quality testing is only able to provide a representation of the water quality at the time and location of sampling and is only one of the many tools (often too little too late and is unable to prevent contamination events from occurring) required to effectively manage a drinking water system. A well managed drinking water system must be managed from catchment to tap and address and comply with the twelve element framework of Australian Drinking Water Guidelines.
